Chef Kelly Gordon has been in the culinary industry since she was 15 years old. She is executive chef at Oakmont of El Dorado Hills, which opened in summer 2019. Oakmont of El Dorado Hills features the signature bar and lounge, and Chef Kelly helped develop this new concept for Oakmont.
Chef Kelly joined Oakmont Senior Living in 2016 as sous chef at Oakmont of Roseville. Over the past four years, Chef Kelly made a name for herself by opening Oakmont of Fair Oaks as the Sous Chef and then opening Oakmont of El Dorado Hills.
As a child, Chef Kelly fell in love with baking with her grandmother. Together they would bake cakes and pies and enter them in the local fair competitions. Chef Kelly enrolled in Culinary Arts classes through high school, where she found her passion for cooking and decided to become a chef. In 2009, she attended Le Cordon Bleu of Pasadena, which began her career working throughout the restaurant industry in high-end restaurants, hotels, and amusement parks.
When asked why she enjoys being part of the culinary team in senior living, Chef Kelly says she enjoys it because of the residents.
“Cooking for residents, being able to create and do what I love with a menu that is from scratch and constantly changing makes the job fun and fulfilling,” she said.
